New Patient Experience
At your new patient appointment, you will spend one hour with Dr. Neely where she will do a comprehensive examination, x-rays, photographs, oral cancer screening and consultation in a private room to identify your treatment needs. Next, you will spend one hour with Britt, our dental hygienist, where she will complete a periodontal evaluation, home care instructions, and clean and polish those pearly whites!
Get to Know Us, While We Get to Know You
Your first visit will include discussions about a range of topics:
- Your past dental history
- The current state of your mouth
- The future goals for your mouth
Our team will take a series of external photos of your smile and mouth and then use a small intraoral camera for additional images. If X-rays are needed, we'll take digital radiography images to see unexposed areas of your teeth. Digital X-rays use less radiation than traditional radiography.
Review Our Findings & Create a Dental Plan
Our first exam covers four areas:
- Aesthetics: How your teeth look
- Function: How your muscles and jaw joints work
- Structure: The existing condition of your restorations and teeth
- Biology: The health of your gums, pulp, head, and neck
Once we've made these assessments, and if time allows, the doctor will meet with you in a private room to discuss our findings.
