Do you have crooked teeth or a misaligned bite? Do you wish to straighten them but do not want the treatment to affect your social life? Unlike past days when traditional metal braces were the only option to straighten your teeth, there are several clear aligner options available today that can align your teeth discreetly.
Clear aligners are plastic trays that are used to address a wide variety of orthodontic issues, including crowded teeth, bite misalignment, gapped teeth, and malocclusion discreetly. They can also be used to correct underbite and overbite.
Clear aligners are a popular alternative to traditional braces, and they can be just as effective. They are made of a series of clear, thin, medical-grade plastic trays that are custom-fabricated to fit your teeth. Clear aligners are comfortable and removable, making them a discreet and convenient way to straighten your teeth.
Clear aligners are an increasingly popular, convenient, and discreet orthodontic treatment. Clear aligners are custom-made plastic trays that fit comfortably over the teeth and shift them slowly into the desired position. Many patients prefer clear aligners to traditional braces because they:
At Monica Neely, DDS, we offer Invisalign clear aligners to straighten your teeth and align your bite. Invisalign clear aligners are a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable plastic dental trays that straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets.
Invisalign clear aligners are made through a combination of your dentist's expertise and 3-D computer imaging technology. You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final, desired position. You'll visit your dentist about once every 6 weeks to ensure your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time averages 9-15 months, and the average number of Invisalign aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
First, we will schedule a consultation for an examination and x-rays. Once we determine you are a candidate for Invisalign Clear Aligners, we can create a customized treatment plan for you.
Then, the dentist will take an impression of your teeth and send them to the dental lab. In about two to three weeks, you'll return to receive your custom aligners.
During treatment, you'll wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Over time, your teeth will shift into place, getting straighter and straighter as you progress through treatment.
Invisalign clear aligners are not ideal for all cases. In many cases, Invisalign can treat mild to moderate misalignment. If your misalignment is severe, you may need braces.
