Dental implants are a great option for you if you have missing teeth. They can replace just one tooth, several teeth, or even all of the teeth.
What is an implant?
Dental implants pose as the tooth’s root, and when a crown is put on top, creates a new tooth that works, looks, and feels like a regular tooth. Dental implants are an amazing alternative to bridges, dentures, and partials with a high success rate!
Dr. Neely works closely with Oral Surgeons and Periodontists that place the implant.
Then, we wait for the implant to fuse to the bone (osseointegration) This process results in the bone growing tightly around the post, which makes for a durable foundation for dental implants.
When the implant has integrated, Dr. Neely will make an impression that will be used to customize the abutment and make a crown to top the implant.
Dr. Neely recommends dental implants to:
- Support a loose-fitting denture for more security and comfortability
- Replace one or several teeth (without involving the surrounding teeth). This constitutes a more conservative approach to missing tooth replacement
- Provide a practical, successful alternative to partial dentures
- Support individual (or multiple) teeth or a bridge
